Act of Reparation for Blasphemies Uttered against the Holy Name of Jesus

Act of Reparation for Blasphemies Uttered against the Holy Name of Jesus

O Jesus, my Savior and Redeemer,
Son of the living God, behold,
we kneel before Thee and offer Thee our reparation;
we would make amends for all the blasphemies uttered against Thy Holy Name,
for all the injuries done to Thee in the Blessed Sacrament,
for all the irreverence shown toward Thine immaculate Virgin Mother,
for all the calumnies and slanders spoken against Thy spouse,
the holy Catholic and Roman Church.
O Jesus, who hast said:
“If you ask the Father anything in My Name, He will give it to you,”
we pray and beseech Thee for all our brethren who are in danger of sin;
shield them from every temptation to fall away from the true faith;
save those who are even now standing on the brink of the abyss;
to all of them give light and knowledge of the truth,
courage and strength for the conflict with evil,
perseverance in faith and active charity!
For this do we pray, most merciful Jesus,
in Thy name, unto God the Father,
with whom Thou livest and reignest
in the unity of the Holy Ghost world without end.

    Just curious… As a non-Christian…and certainly NOT a Roman Catholic Christian at that, I am wondering just what situations and circumstances brought you to the point where you felt/thought that this post was appropriate…much less necessary… Would you explain it to me as I am asking in good faith and all neighborliness?

    • What “Blasphemies” have been uttered against “the Holy Name of Jesus”?

    • What “calumnies and slanders” have been uttered against the Church? (of course I see the Church as being larger and more inclusive than the RCC…but that’s neither here nor there as far as my questions go…)

    • What irreverence has been shown towards Mary the mother of Jesus?

    Please note, that if I, in my questioning, in your mind have taken a place amongst the blasphemous, the slanderers and calumniators, or the irreverent, it is nonetheless incumbent upon you to engage in dialog for your own prayer for “light and knowledge of the truth” rests in your hands right now…

    A blessing and a curse is put before you…

    Choose the blessing and speak in good faith…

    All the best,

      If you really live in the same world as i do, you’d know how people blaspheme the name of Christ. How people make mockery of Our Lord, and how many protestants belittle the place of the Catholic Church in the salvation history of the world, and Mary who played an almost-indispensable role, as allotted to her by God, in bringing salvation to us.

      The totality of these wars waged against the Church, the slanders and calumnies, the disrespect given to the Body and Blood of Christ as we see in the recent events where people tried to steal the Host for “Black Mass”, these and more are what we pray God for mercy.

      God bless you Emyth.

    every time someone uses the name of Jesus in vain which could be as a cuss word or as an exclamation or anytime they are not addressing the Lord himself or petitioning Him is a blasphemy and grieves his Sacred Heart.
    every time someone speaks against the Blessed Mother, that she is not perpetually virgin, against the virgin birth, calls her a vessel, speaks against her holy motherhood is a blasphemy against her and grieves her immaculate heart.
    every time someone speaks evil against the Holy Mother Church, spreads lies about Her or the Magisterium, denies She is the one true Church established by God for His holy priesthood is blasphemy against the Church.
    This includes jokes about priests and nuns, jokes about God and Jesus, jokes about the Blessed Mother or denying her immaculate conception or her assumption into heaven or denying Jesus is the second person of the trinity.
    If you are in good faith inquiring, Emyth, I recommend you look further. This may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
